A years worth of technical problems in one night but still a great gig

Elvis Party kentHi everybody, done a lovely show near Faversham Kent the other day. Originally planned as a garden festival party the weather forcast after an initial dry start was for strong winds and heavy rain.So the booker erected a gazebo with bails of hay as seating.

I followed a great acoustic male singer and started to set up after his performance.

The woes of live performing came to the fore as initially my laptop with my music files wouldn’t start.This has happened before and was quickly remedied by taking out the master battery and reinstalling.Then my shure 68 radio microphone wouldn’t turn on despite all efforts. Despite pre show checks where everything worked fine I couldn’t get it to work..this microphone over the years has been so reliable. I decided to replace this with my vintage Elvis Rm15 Electro voice line mic ( same one Elvis used late 60s and 70s) and this didn’t work also , again another mic that has never let me down. Despite years of experience dealing with pre show gremlins I was somewhat flustered.I had as last resort another Shure 68 line mic and to immense relief it worked and the show could begin. No two shows are ever the same and I think I had two years of technical problems compressed into 30 minutes that night, but the moral of this story is carry plenty of  spares of everything and eventually a cracking show will rock as usual..

Essex woman Yvonne Alexander made the ultimate effort for her own 60th birthday party celebrations. Held at Hawkwell Village Hall the party had an inspired Elvis theme with everybody dressed in the theme of The King of Rock and Roll. Yvonne especially made an effort in getting a custom made Elvis jumpsuit. To complete the Elvis theme she hired top Elvis Impersonator Chris Field as Elvis to rock the joint while she hip swiveled the night away.

Kent Elvis Impersonator Chris Field did his fellow workmate a turn this Sunday by performing for Daryl Packards 60th birthday bash . Instead of mending potholes both Chris and Daryl exchanged their work boots for blue suede shoes. Chris has only recently been a highways maintenance operative since Covid after a full time career as an entertainer. As you can see by the photo it was great fun!!!

Elvis Party The Crown Suffolk

Hi just a quick update, this Saturday gone I took my Elvis Show to Suffolk again.I was booked by a great guy Paul Turner for a suprise appearance at his mother’s 80th at a lovely country village pub The Crown in Acton Suffolk.She was a big Elvis fan who had visited Graceland twice with her best friend. The show finished with her request American Trilogy  which is one of my best songs in my opinion. After the show we spoke about her holiday experiences visiting Elvis birthplace in Tupelo and her visit to Sun Records in Nashville.

There were 30 people present at her party so it was only a small event but these kind of shows I love as they are so much more personal.

Long trip to Suffolk for Elvis Impersonator

 

Hi everybody just a quick update on what I’ve been up to.

Last week I performed at The Aragon Primary School New Malden Surrey for Headmaster Claire Ryders  60th birthday party.No pupils were present just 30 teachers.The weather was beautiful and Claire loved her suprise.

A week later I was booked at The Royal British Legion Brandon Suffolk for Cheryl West’s mums 80th birthday party. Once again the weather was glorious and that made the long journey up to Suffolk much more bearable.

The music of the King at The Avenue Theatre

Elvis tickets audience show theatre live musicHi everybody, I am still buzzing after a great show at The Avenue Theatre Sittingbourne Kent.  The show was a sell out and wow what an audience. I would like to thank all the sound and light technicians who supported the show.The music of Elvis is increasing on an upward curve and I hope to do more shows like this in the near future.

Hi everybody, I was looking over some old photographs and found this one from a recent show. I think look very much like Elvis around the 1972 period of Elvis Presleys career. It is great when the costume guise comes together.

Elvis bowls them over in Tunbridge Wells

  • Hi everybody, last night I performed for Sheila’s 80th Birthday Party at Royal Tunbridge Wells Indoor Bowling Club. A good turnout for this event occurred for a well respected lady. I performed for two hours and had the rarity of performing with a black eye which I managed to conceal.
